Born in Schiedam in 2017, Black Nazareth came together when guitarist Menno Gootjes — known from progressive metal veterans Threnody and Focus — approached bassist Henry McIlveen with ideas for something heavier and darker than anything either had done before.

With vocalist Daniël de Jongh (Textures) and keys wizard Martijn Spierenburg (Within Temptation) completing the lineup, Black Nazareth released a string of hard-hitting singles before dropping their debut album in 2022 — earning a 10/10 review in PowerPlay Rock & Metal Magazine and a nomination for Track of the Year at the Rotterdam Music Awards.
